About This Program

A Family Affair pays homage to the closest thing classical music may have ever had to a musical dynasty. JS Bach is one of music’s most important figures that can stand alone for the scope, quality, and quantity of his work. He was also a family man, with 20 children whom he personally taught. Many became fine musicians in their own right, who would play an influential role in the development of classical music, mainly transitioning from the Baroque to the Classical period.
